Greets all! 
It's nice to see the forum back up and running again and even nicer to see some few people still visiting even after the forum has been down for 2 weeks. This announcement will explain the whole thing as well as the future plans I have for this community. 
1. Downtime Information
First off, the reason behind the downtime was because of the domain which expired last Oct. 24 and I'm guessing we forgot to renew it leading to the site going offline. We apologize for that, but fortunately emp (waray) found a way out of that mess after I nagged him in his Facebook wall and all seems to be well again! Big special thanks to him for saving our domain for a year!
2. Taclobanoids 3.0
I have some great news regarding this because I just realized that the forum is very simple to update to the latest phpBB 3.0.6 version. For those of you that do not know what that means, it means we should have a whole new look with tons of cool features to make posting more fun.
Right now I have 3 major problems so far. First I need a new logo (mentioned this hundreds of times ). Second I need to choose a theme which will hopefully revolve around the logo and third, I need to revise the sections for hopefully the last time. I now have an idea on where this community is heading anyway and IRC is as good as dead making 30% of the forum useless.
While I may keep the cheesy logo I made for now and work on the theme, I still need help. First I want all of your last suggestions here. Say any criticisms or whatever. Insult the forum to death if you will lol! Theme colors, whatever, name it all here please because even though I have a hefty schedule with work, I can always read your suggestions and do changes when I have time.
The other help I need is new moderators. These moderators will clean up the forum so they are basically janitors. Anyone willing to help please reply here or PM me.
3. Update Process
Once I feel that Taclobanoids is ready for upgrading and get enough suggestions, I will first ask waray to backup the whole database in case I screw up. Then the following will happen:
- All blogs will be closed for now
- All photo galleries will be removed, but the photos themselves will be backed up.
- Chatbox will be removed and may return in a different form
- Rules will removed for now
After that, I will set up the new forum and ask special people to help me test it. Then I'll slowly add the new changes as we move along and restore the blog system.
I also decided not to start from scratch, but thats what the new moderators will do. Clean up the garbage and preserve the nice posts.
If all goes well, it should take less than 3 days to complete the update.
But since I need so much help with other areas, I'm guessing that the forum will be fully live by the end of January 2010. I will post another announcement before the upgrade process takes place.
Once online we'll test it for a bit then I'll start inviting other people back and hopefully this community can run without me because I have work to do and I need to get my writing back into gear.
Anyway for now, just keep the forum updated and don't forget to help me with the suggestions if you really want this place to grow. I may respond late to suggestions as my schedules been pretty tight lately. Thanks so much if you made it this far reading this all and sorry as usual if this announcement is poorly written.

You can help with the beta testing And possibly theme seleciton. any little bit of it will help. Just bear in mind that our strong efforts may not yield much over time cuz there is a severe lack of members lol
